Meryl Alcabes is a Seattle-based photographer who is known for her inspired event photography and her colorful, expressive portraits. Meryl's creativity and enthusiasm are unmistakable hallmarks of her images. Her rapport with people is evident in her work. 

Her work has been featured in Seattle Magazine, the Mercer Island Reporter, DList Magazine, JT News, Jewish in Seattle, and the West Seattle Blog. One of her images was chosen by King County Metro for display on a Seattle bus shelter. She has exhibited at Photo Center Northwest, Seattle Central Community College and at the West Seattle Art Walk.  Her work was included in the 2015 International Women's Exhibit, Women in Focus, Atlanta, Georgia.  She was named "Best Event Photographer" in the JT News 2013 and 2014 Reader Surveys, and won First Place in the Photographer category of the Jewish Washington Reader Poll.  

Meryl studied fine art photography at Photo Center Northwest, and graduated from the Seattle Central Creative Academy with an AA in Commercial Photography.

Meryl was hooked on photography the first time she heard those special words, "Wow--your camera takes really good pictures!" She still gets a kick out of that comment.
